Join the Suffolk County Farm for an introduction to how to raise backyard chickens

Thinking about raising chickens? Join the Suffolk County Farm for an overview about how to raise chickens in your backyard.  Topics include raising chicks, hens and other poultry, along with breeds, behavior, nutrition and disease prevention. Town ordinances, equipment, housing and weather concerns will also be covered, with a Q&A session to follow. Some of the chickens from the Suffolk County Farm will also be in attendance! Registration is required. HPL cardholders only.

About the branch

The Main is located in the heart of Huntington Village, on the corner of Prospect Street and Main Street. The Main has a large auditorium and two smaller meeting rooms, one room for Children's programs and a conference room. There is also a Local History room located on the second floor and an Art Gallery located on the lower level.
